Revelation 12:1-2 And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars; and she was the child; and she crieth out, travailing in birth, and in pain to be delivered.

The woman that you see here represents the church of God through out history. The crown of twelve stars represents the people of God which has always been organized in twelve tribes from the children of Jacob or Israel. See (Isaiah 54:5-6, Jeremiah 6:2, II Corinthians 11:2)

“Arrayed with the sun” means that she is clothed with the justice of Jesus and the word of God. (Psalms 119:105)

“The moon under her feet” means that the church of God has always being guided by the word of her prophets which is a reflection of the word of God.

The woman was pregnant meaning that the people of God were waiting for the arrival of the Messiah.

Revelation 12:3-4 And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems. And his tail draweth the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon standeth before the woman that is about to be delivered, that when she is delivered he may devour her child.

The dragon is Satan himself acting through the Roman Empire, when Herod attempted to kill Jesus as soon as he was borne. (Matthew 2:1-15)

The seven heads are the seven hills upon which ancient Rome was located. Also, we can say that in a spiritual or symbolic form, Satan has persecuted the people of God using seven worldly empires: Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Med Persia, Greece, Rome, and the Papal system.

Revelation 12:5-6 And she was delivered of a son, a man child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and unto his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that there they may nourish her a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

After Jesus was caught up unto God, his church remained on earth being persecuted by the Papal Roman Empire for 1260 years. See previous chapters for more information, especially Daniel 7.

This time of persecution was prolonged up until 1798ac since 538ac.

Revelation 12:7-9 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels going forth to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels; And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

Satan was thrown out of heaven and cast down to earth permanently.

Revelation 12:13-14 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man child. And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness unto her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

The woman obtained the wings of the great eagle. This means that the church of God fled to uninhabited land from were a great nation formed, whose icon or emblem is the great eagle.

The pilgrims fled from Europe, which is ancient Rome, in an embarkation called “The May Flower” and established themselves in America, giving birth to the nation that later became the most powerful nation on earth, United States of America.

Revelation 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth after the woman water as a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

In the Bible, water means multitudes of people, nations, tongues, etc. See Revelation 17:15

Satan sent multitudes of people, governments, kings and states against the true church of God, for which God had to bring forth a nation free from political and religious persecution. The “earth”, the nation later founded by the “woman”, the church of God, “opened her mouth” and helped the woman by means of not replicating the laws and mistakes of Europe.

The first Amendment to the Constitution of the United States says:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

The Roman Catholic Religion used to control Church and State. They were the persecutors of the true people of God in all European countries which was ancient Rome.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon waxed wroth with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and hold the testimony of Jesus:

When the Papal system saw that the woman fled and was helped by the earth ( USA), she proposed herself to make war against the seed of them, those who keep the law of God and have the testimony of Jesus.

The Papal system is doing the impossible to establish their ideas and doctrines in the United States. Although, they have had great success in many cases, they have not accomplished to kill and put in jail the saints, keepers of the law of God and the faith of Jesus.

USA is a nation of liberty for all, founded by Protestants that once rejected and fought against the Papal Religious system. But, all this is about to change as it is foretold in Bible prophecy. See the next chapter “Apocalypse 13 – The Mark of the Beast, 666”.
